KwikNest is AI-native: the intelligence is part of the platform, not an app you add to it. This page maps every place it shows up, what technique is behind each one, and what it is not allowed to do.
If you only read one section, read Two kinds of intelligence — it is the design decision the rest of this page follows from.
Two kinds of intelligence#
A language model is the right tool for a judgement call and the wrong tool for arithmetic. So KwikNest uses both, deliberately, and tells you which is which.
| Generative AI | Deterministic logic | |
|---|---|---|
| Used for | Words, imagery, suggestions, interpretation | Prices, stock, capacity, detection, selection |
| Why | Taste and phrasing have no single right answer | These must be right, repeatable and explainable |
| Output | Always a draft you review | Applied directly, and auditable |
| Examples | Your About page copy, a product description from photos, a suggested meta description | Your wholesale unit price, what is left on the shelf, whether Tuesday is full, whether a price is zero |
This is why an anomaly alert is trustworthy: the detection is a rule against your data, and the model only writes the sentence explaining it. And it is why your storefront design is not improvised — a curated blueprint decides the layout, and the model only fills the words.
An AI store builder that invents a delivery promise is an annoyance. One that invents a stock level is a liability. We do not let it near the numbers.
Where generative AI is used#
The AI is ours to run and included with your account — you bring no API key, pick no model, and pay nothing extra for it. Every item here produces something you review before it counts.
Storefront setup — Available#
From a short written brief, one run produces a complete home page, your companion pages (About, Contact, FAQ, Locations), copy throughout in your chosen brand voice, and every image slot filled. It lands as a draft; your live store is untouched until you publish.
The design comes from a blueprint, not the model. → Storefront builder
Section regeneration — Available#
Rewrite one section with an instruction — "shorter, and mention same-day pickup" — without touching the rest of the page.
Images — Available#
Generated imagery for hero, spotlight, story, about and gallery slots, generated and hosted by us.
Your own uploads always take priority, and KwikNest never overwrites a photograph you uploaded. Where nothing has been generated yet, slots fall back to curated professional photography bundled with the product, so a brand-new store with no photographs still looks finished.
Product listings from photographs — Available#
Upload up to five photos of a product and get a name, descriptions, suggested price range, tags and SEO fields. You review and edit before it saves.
SEO suggestions — Available#
Meta titles and descriptions for your store, any page, or any product. Editing them by hand works exactly the same way.
Storefront copy details — Available#
Smaller written pieces such as your footer brand line and newsletter wording.
Order form drafting — Available#
Titles, header wording and a layout suggestion for a buyer order form.
Buyer list import — Available#
When you import trade accounts from a CSV, KwikNest matches your column headers to the right fields, so a spreadsheet you already keep usually imports without reformatting.
AI never imports the rows. It only proposes which column means what, and you confirm.
Storefront support assistant — Limited#
An assistant on your public store that answers general questions about your business and escalates to you when it cannot help. Today it does not search your catalog, so it cannot answer "do you have this in a size 12".
Nestor, your back-office assistant — Available#
Ask about your own inventory, orders, buyers and deliveries and get answers drawn from your records. Nestor can also draft work — a restock purchase order, for instance — and every draft waits for your approval.
Nestor is included, and switched on per account as we roll it out. → Nestor
Where deterministic intelligence is used#
No model is involved in any of this. It is simply how the platform works.
| Capability | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Blueprint selection | Scores your industry, products and goals against the curated designs and picks the best fit, falling back to a neutral design when it is not confident | Available |
| Page recipe selection | Chooses the section order and emphasis for your home page from what you sell and what the store should achieve | Available — every current industry blueprint (catalog vs enquiry vs wholesale, or the vertical's equivalents) |
| Wholesale price resolution | Applies the correct quantity-break tier, pack size and minimum order for the buyer and quantity in front of it | Available |
| Stock reservation | Reserves units at checkout and on buyer order submission, across retail and wholesale, from one number | Available |
| Reorder suggestions | Flags variants at or below their reorder point and proposes the supplier you last bought from | Available |
| Capacity and auto-decline | Compares requests against your daily production ceiling and blocked days, and can refuse over-capacity requests at the point of asking | Available |
| Anomaly detection | Rule-based checks for zero prices, discounts above your cap, stock running out, and deliveries that have not moved | Limited — those four categories |
| Fulfilment suggestions | Recommends pickup, local delivery or a carrier from the address and your settings | Available |
| Delivery route order | Optimises the stop order for a delivery run; respects time windows and van capacity when the solver path is on | Available — mapping is ours and included |
| Abandoned cart recovery | Notices a cart left quiet and emails the shopper | Available |
| Supplier performance | Quote win rate, response rate and response time from your actual quote history | Available |
| Palette from your logo | Reads the dominant colours out of the logo you upload, in your browser | Available |
| Address suggestions at checkout | Autocompletes shopper addresses | Available |
| Shopify and CSV product import | Maps an existing product catalog onto KwikNest products and variants — fixed rules, no model involved. Not theme, passwords, or live sync | Available |
| WooCommerce product import | Same catalog mapping from Woo Products → Export CSV/ZIP (simple + variable) | Available |
What the intelligence is not allowed to do#
| Guardrail | What it means |
|---|---|
| Drafts only | Generated content lands in a draft. Publishing is a decision you make |
| Approval on writes | Anything Nestor does that would spend money, place an order or reach a customer pauses and waits for you |
| Fixed output shapes | Every model response is validated against a fixed structure before it is used. AI cannot add a section, reorder your page, change your palette or touch a price |
| No invented promises | Generated copy is instructed not to fabricate shipping times, guarantees, certifications or prices. Read it anyway — you are publishing it |
| Your uploads win | Generated imagery never replaces a photograph you uploaded |
| Your data only | Intelligence features read your organisation's records. They do not read another business's data, and no one else can ask about yours |
| Rate limits | Each organisation gets an hourly allowance per feature, so a runaway loop cannot run up your account |
| Platform spend cap | A daily ceiling on AI spend across KwikNest, as a backstop |
| Kill switches | Nestor can be paused for your organisation at any time, and KwikNest can pause it platform-wide |
| Audit log | Every generation, every Nestor action and every approval you give is recorded |
Rate limits are set generously for normal use and can change; if you hit one during a legitimate bulk job, tell us.

Frequently asked#
Do I have to use any of it? No. The manual setup wizard, the visual editor and every screen in the workspace work without AI. Nothing generated is published without you.
What happens if AI is not enabled on my account? The generative features are unavailable or fall back — curated photography instead of generated imagery, rule-based column matching instead of assisted matching, manual SEO fields instead of suggestions. Everything deterministic works exactly the same.
Can it change my prices or send something to a customer? No. Those are write actions, and write actions require your approval. Price changes are yours alone.
Where is my data processed? Generative features are served by a third-party model provider under KwikNest's account, and only the brief or records needed for that specific task are sent. Each request is recorded in your audit log. Your data is never exposed to another business on KwikNest.
Why is Nestor's answer sometimes plainer than a chatbot's? Because it is reporting your records rather than composing prose about them. Answers cite the data they came from so you can check them, which matters more than fluency when you are deciding what to bake tomorrow.
Something it generated is wrong. What do I do? Edit it — everything generated is editable — and tell us. Incorrect output is how we find prompt and rule problems.
